MAY I please say a big thank you to the good folk of Upton-upon-Severn for the splendid jazz festival.
You gave me, my brother and his wife your usual friendly welcome. We travelled from Lincolnshire, the gentle way! No M1 or whatever. We were fed and watered well by our lovely landlady Liz and co, met friends we've made over the years and were given a really good jazzy time. The street marches are wonderful and full of fun. Thanks and love to 'Sir' Alan Buckley for the music all the way. It does my heart and soul good to make this annual journey.
All of you festival folk, bands, security guards, litter pickers (not too much from us golden oldies!), stallholders, on site shops and caf folks in the town, all made for one really great weekend.
I'm coming down gently to earth again and looking forward to jazz festival 2003, roll on!
Thanks again - love and prayers.
MRS PEG NEWMAN FRANCIS, Grimsby, Lincolnshire.
