TWENTY-SEVEN Malvern women have pooled their sewing skills to create a unique wall hanging for the Queen during her Golden Jubilee year.
The members of Malvern Cross Stitch Club each embroidered a colourful 3.5 square inch image of an English flower, which was joined together and finished on Monday by Shirley Parr.
Club secretary Barbara Cox said: "We started in January and weren't sure what to do. We wanted it to be simple but nice, so we decided to do flowers because the Queen has lots of flowers given to her. It's absolutely beautiful with reds, purples, pinks, yellows, white and golds."
"We try and help others and have a damn good time ourselves. We're all amateurs and all aged between 20 and 76."
The wall hanging will be sent to the Queen at Buckingham Palace when members have completed a calligraphy card to go with it.
Malvern Cross Stitch Club meets at the Ascension Church hall, Somers Park Road, on the second Monday of every month.
