IT was interesting to see yet another spread in the Malvern Gazette about recycling, with again no mention of what we are supposed to do with plastic.
We are a family of six; we give the dustmen one black plastic bag a week.
What is in it? About 95 per cent plastic, I should say - plastic milk bottles, plastic packaging, plastic wrapping. Everything else we dutifully recycle as the council asks us to.
We have a compost bin for food scraps - and everything else, paper, glass, cans, silver paper, old fabrics and shoes - get carted to the right places. (And it's a bore and takes up a lot of time, so requires some commitment!)
But the greatest culprit on the waste front is not mentioned. I know it's expensive to deal with plastic; but someone ought to 'come clean' and discuss it at least!
