A MALVERN couple who have just returned to the town after years in South America are looking for a home for their pet dog.
John McCarry and his wife Dorothy brought back six dogs and four cats when they returned from Lima in Peru
The animals are currently in quarantine but they are due to be released in September.
Mr and Mrs McCarry fear the Wells Road cottage they have moved into will be too small for one of their pets, Sean the Alsatian, and they are looking for a loving home for him.
"We always knew when we brought him back that we would have to find him a new home but we didn't like to leave him out there," said Mr McCarry.
A former pupil at Hanley Castle School, Mr McCarry moved to South America to teach in 1991, first to Buenos Aires, where he met and married his wife, then Punta Arenas in Chile, then Lima, Peru.
Sean joined the family in Punta Arenas, on the Strait of Magellan, where Mr McCarry taught at the British School.
"He's very intelligent, a bit excitable and he can also be a bit timid. He's a very handsome fellow," said Mr McCarry. "He gets on well with cats and people but is probably best suited for a household with no other dogs"
Anyone who can offer Sean a home, should contact Mr McCarry on 01684 573646 or jcmccarry@hotmail.com.
