MALVERN cyclist Tim Wood was supposedly taking it easy prior to a weekend national event in Northumberland but he still managed to win the VC Sevale's Chance Lane 10 by more than a minute.
This race was also the first of two club championship events with second-placed Brian Boswell taking the first spot honours. Mike Amery took first place for the veterans with a good solid ride with Kevin Minsky second.
Results: 1 Tim Wood 22.26; 2 Brian Boswell 23.28; 3 Mike Amery 23.50; 4 Dave Walker 24.15; 5 Kevin Minsky 24.59; 6 Chris McSweeney 25.51; 7 S Potter 27.34; 8 Derek Burnage 27.41; 9 Mike Peakman 27.43; 10 Neill Williamson 28.02.
The next event is another 10 at Leigh Sinton on Thursday (July 18).
