FAMILIES are being urged to experience the benefits of gardening by getting stuck in at a Worcester City Council allotment.
At £19.50 per year, or around 5p a day, renting an allotment gives people the chance to grow their own fruit and vegetables.
A city council spokesman said it also provides an ideal activity for all the family to get involved, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year, with a chance for younger members of the family to develop a sense of achievement and get lashings of fresh air and beneficial exercise.
"With summer here, what better time to get outdoors and into something which will save you money, keep you healthy and give you a real sense of a job well done," said parks development officer Chris Waterfall.
