WORCESTER rider Steve Dring had a welcome return to good form with a win at Mallory Park.
He outsprinted a breakaway group of seven riders for a satisfying victory.
In the Weaver Valley Road Race, another Worcester rider, Adrian Bird, rode very strongly to win the king of the hills prize.
He looked to be the strogenst rider in the leading group of six, but faded towards the end to finish sixth.
He was 50 seconds behind the winner and just one second in front of the next finishing group.
Bird was also fastest in the Worcester St John's Cycling Club evening 10-mile time trial for the Kinnersley Cup in a time of 23 minutes.
Second was VC Sevale visitor Dave Dickerson 24.26; third and fastest veteran was John Callghan 24.55, followed by Dave Campbell 27.13, Mark Brazier 27.21, Doug Dring 30.32, Jeff Grainger 31.47.
