THE teenage pedestrian who died after being in collision with a lorry on the Droitwich bypass has been named.

Joshua Simpson, aged 13, was killed in the smash near Homebase at lunchtime on Wednesday, July 10.

Ambulance crews rushed to the scene, on the A38 between the A4133 traffic island and the Westlands roundabout, at 1.15pm, but Joshua was already dead.

An inquest into the death of the youngster, of Yew Tree Hill, Droitwich, was due to be opened today by Worcestershire coroner Victor Round.

The hearing was scheduled to take place at County Hall, Spetchley, along with those of Kidderminster teenager Duncan Pimm, who died last Tuesday following a road smash, and Christopher Whitehead High School pupil Nathan Spiers, who got into difficulties and died last Monday while fishing with pals in Lower Broadheath.
