ONE in 10 small business owners in the region regularly works more than 70 hours a week, according to the latest research.
The Royal Bank of Scotland has discovered entrepreneurs from Worcestershire are among the hardest working people in Britain, putting in an average of 48 hours.
In addition to working hours, small business leaders admitted to spending just under 12 hours each week thinking about their business outside work.
But adoption of time-saving and work-life balance measures could ease this lifestyle, bring business benefits and contribute to a rise in small business survival rates.
"Although many small business leaders work long hours, the sense of achievement and pride in seeing the business succeed is a powerful motivating force," said Jason Oakley, head of business banking at The Royal Bank of Scotland.
"Nevertheless, for many, a better balance between work and personal life could help improve their long-term prospects."
The bank, together with the Work-Life Research Centre, has put together a series of tests to help businessmen save time.
