WORCESTER played host to its own version of Band Aid last night as four groups helped raise money for a city charity.
The gig at the Marr's Bar, in Pierpoint Street, raised £410 for Acorns Children's Hospice.
Seymour, from Bromyard, in Herefordshire, kicked off the evening's entertainment.
They were followed by The Dawn Parade, from Bury St Edmunds, then Morso and Antihero, who are both from Stratford-upon-Avon.
Around 150 people packed into a heaving Marr's Bar for the gig, which was organised by Evening News reporter Alison Fraser.
"Everyone had a really good time," she said.
"I couldn't believe how many people were prepared to come out on a Monday night, but I'm sure they will agree it was worth it.
"The bands were absolutely brilliant and I'm grateful to all of them for coming and supporting Acorns."
All the money raised will go towards an Acorns Children's Hospice fund-raising trek along the Inca Trail, in Peru.
Alison's next fund-raising event will be a classical concert performed by Sorpresa!! at St Martin's Church, in London Road, Worcester, on Saturday, July 27.
