HEREFORD'S David Park earned a place at Muirfield after successfully negotiating a play-off during Open qualifying at North Berwick yesterday.
Park added a one-under-par 70 for a two-round total of 136 and a shoot- out with Roger Wessells and Tom Whitehouse who sent his opening play-off shot on to the beach.
Worcestershire Golf Club professional Richard Lewis rallied with a second round three-under-par 68 but his first round 72 meant his dream of making the Open have to be put on hold for another year.
Former Ryder Cup captain Mark James missed out as did the 1996 US PGA champion Mark Brooks and James Conteh, son of former world light-heavyweight boxing champion John.
