SOUGHT-AFTER striker Matt Lewis bagged Kidderminster Harriers' first pre-season goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw at sunny Stratford Town.
Harriers were given a useful work-out by their competitive Midland Alliance opponents who took the lead in the first half.
But the visitors dominated the second 45 minutes and teenager Lewis equalised before heading against the bar in the late stages.
Ian Britton put out two different sides in both halves with only left-back Ian Joy playing the whole game due to an injury to Scott Stamps.
After Sam Shilton's cross-shot was tipped over, Stratford went ahead on 22 minutes through John Halford.
Former Harriers striker Tony Robinson foxed the defence with a clever flick and midfielder Halford strode through to finish well.
Ian Foster tried to lift the professional outfit and forced a good save from keeper Warren Ayres with one deflected effort on 43 minutes.
But the second half saw Lewis linking well with Drewe Broughton up-front and Stratford rarely got a look in.
Sub keeper Wayne Starkey had to be alert to deny Lewis twice and Broughton once before the 68th-minute equaliser.
The young forward ran onto the more experienced front-man's header and tucked home a confident low finish.
Then Lewis nodded against the bar after a good right-wing cross from fellow youth teamer Nick Heath.
New signing Sean Parrish played the second half in midfield.
