KIDDERMINSTER Harriers fired four goals past Evesham United as Ian Britton's side blew the close season cobwebs away in style last night.

Following Saturday's lacklustre 1-1 draw at Stratford Town, Harriers were looking for a lift to their confidence and duly produced it with a far more convincing display.

The arrival of Third Division Harriers helped attract a crowd of more than 300 to Common Road but they had to wait more than 40 minutes for the first goal when record signing Andy Ducros broke the deadlock on 41 minutes.

He lobbed the ball over Darren Steadman after a superb through ball by Lee Ayres.

Danish striker Bo Henriksen then crashed a shot against the bar before Harriers doubled their lead on the stroke of half- time. Big striker Drewe Broughton drilled a low shot past Steadman after another Ayres pass.

The second-half brought a round of substitutions and Sam Shilton found Daire Doyle clear on goal with a threaded pass and, the young Irishman rounded the goalkeeper before unselfishly squaring the ball to Andrew Corbett who tapped the ball into the empty net.

Three minutes from the end it was Shilton who wrapped the game up for Kidderminster when he capitalised on a poor kick from substitute goalkeeper Adam Moss before winning possession and calmly sliding the ball into the net.
