THE Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire has honoured county firefighters who have shown dedication beyond the call of duty.
Michael Brinton presented long service awards to those who had given more than 20 years to Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade.
Among those who received the medal was leading firefighter Tony Richardson, a member of the Green Watch at Worcester Fire Station.
Mr Richardson joined the brigade in 1982 and has served at Kidderminster, Hereford and Bromsgrove.
Sub officer Gary Bumfrey, who is now in charge of the fire station at Upton-upon-Severn, joined as a retained firefighter in 1981 and sub officer Alan Price from Droitwich fire station were also honoured.
During the ceremony at the brigade's training and development centre in Droitwich Mr Brinton paid tribute to Ashleigh Good who risked his life to save an elderly woman from a blazing house.
The Ross-on-Wye based firefighter received a national bravery award.
The following firefighters were presented with a commemorative plate for completing 30 years service: Sub officer Roger Hall of Leominster, sub officer Ken Brown of Malvern and sub officer Bob Williams of Bromsgrove.
