REDDITCH Arrows' top flight status will be decided in their last match of the season.

After failing to win any of their eight matches this season, the Ash Lane tenants have to beat second from bottom Lancashire Wolverines in a fortnight.

And the Hopwood side will have to do it the hard way, away from home, after losing the home fixture last week to give their opponents the advantage in the battle to stay out of Division Two North.

Arrows went down fighting in a 44-26 loss to Gateshead Senators at the weekend to leave them in a perilous position.

If Lancashire had recorded a result against Birmingham Bulls it could have been all over but the city side won a comprehensive victory 83-0.

Only one club is expected to be cut from the Conference and it is between the bottom two. The league is decided on a ratio with an unbeaten season worth 1 and four wins and four defeats worth 0.5

Lancashire were languishing with 0 after losing every match until they beat Arrows to give them 0.143 while Redditch are bottom after just one draw all season to give them 0.062.

But maths aside, Redditch know anything but a win in Lancashire will see them finish bottom in a season which started with faint hopes of reaching the play-offs.
