A TEENAGE entrepreneur hopes to raise thousands of pounds for the Acorns Children's Hospice as he starts the first of a series of car boot sales.
Seventeen-year-old Adam Singh will hold the first sale on Saturday on Droitwich Road, Worcester.
The Royal Grammar School sixth-former is following in his father's footsteps by running a business on the site.
"This is more of a learning curve for me to start getting use to the way the world works," said Adam, who lives in Grange Lane, Claines, near Worcester.
"Dad thinks that, rather than him do everything, he should make his son do some of the hard work.
"He's been paying my bills for the last 17 years. I thought I should start paying him back.
"Dad's given me some guidance and put me in touch with his contacts but it is under my name."
Bootmania is Adam's first venture as a businessman.
He is due to start A-levels in business studies, information technology, geography and mathematics in September.
All of the day's takings will be donated to Acorns.
Car booters will be charged a £5 entrance fee for the market, which starts on Saturday, July 20 from 6am.
n DEDICATED Guides throughout Worcestershire have raised more than £10,000 for Acorns.
Jo Dowling, county commissioner for Girlguiding Worcestershire, challenged Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and the Ranger Unit and Trefoil Guild to raise £50 each in the quest to reach £20,000.
Fund-raising is continuing until the end of October
