A CONTROVERSIAL planning application to build four homes in Webheath has been deferred for a police analysis to be conducted after concerns over traffic and access.
Redditch councillors spent an hour debating the future of the land in Foxlydiate Lane and opted to defer their decision despite previously deferring the application for a site visit and officers' recommendation for approval.
A 52-name petition and 20 letters of objection were sent to the council from residents concerned about noise, pollution, highway safety, increased traffic on a busy road with poor visibility and street car parking.
A speed survey carried out by the Highways Partnership Unit along Foxlydiate Lane, which has a 30mph speed limit, revealed the average speed in each direction was 30mph or less.
