THE Lodge room of the George Spinner Lodge, of the RAOB, at the Rifleman's Arms Droitwich, was full on Wednesday, June 26.
Brethren from many lodges within the province, together with the provincial grand primo and officers, attended to pay tribute to two members for extended service to the lodge and order. Presentations of engraved glasses were made to brother John Kings on his completion of 40 years as secretary and to brother Roger Fearnall for 23 years as treasurer. Brother Arthur Morris, trustee of the province of Worcestershire, paid tribute to both members and the evening concluded with harmony from brother Peter Goode on keyboard and penny whistle, monologues from several members and a good old-fashioned sing song.
The lodge continues with its charity events having raised more than £2,000 with the "vocal score" concerts. The next function will be on Friday, December 13, in St Nicholas' Church, tickets are £5 from the usual sources.
