OUR monthly meeting was opened by our president, Joan Lang. Brenda Salt read the relevant business including news from the Yorkshire Tea Company who have planted over two million trees around the world. On behalf of the support we have given them, a tree is to be planted in Anantapur, South East India.
For the remainder of the evening we were entertained by Alan Benjamin with humorous and heart-warming tales of his life as a constable. He spoke of his 33 years of service in the police force as the golden years.
Marion Walter won our monthly competition - a golden flower arrangement, and the evening concluded with a vote of thanks given by our secretary Brenda Salt.
