GILL Wilson, our president, welcomed members to our June meeting. The flowers in the hall had been arranged by the Miss Smiths. Judy Lee read the minutes and dealt with the correspondence and forthcoming events. Mary Gray gave a report on the spring food, flowers and craft day at Perdiswell Leisure Centre that had been attended by several members. We had entered all classes and received good comments and marks. The bakery demonstration and afternoon had been greatly enjoyed. Our talk was given by Dorothy Norman on indigenous embroidery of the Indian sub-continent. We learned about the different embroideries in the various regions. Mrs Norman showed us how small mirrors were sewn into designs. Miss Smith gave the vote of thanks.
Christine Hawker won the raffle.
Our next meeting will be in the garden of Diane Bidwell and we are all encouraged to wear hats.
