SPA youngsters had a brush with success when they enjoyed a visit from a professional artist.
Youngsters at Witton Middle School, in Old Coach Road, were visited by local professional artist Neill Lowdon during the school's fourth artist in residence session. The year six children worked under Neill's expert guidance using oil paints and pastels to produce work on flowers.
A bright colourful gallery is due to be formed, displaying all of the children's masterpieces.
Curriculum leader for art and design, Marion Wilson, said: "The children thoroughly enjoyed their time spent with a real artist."
