A BOSTIN' rock show, created by a Rubery writer, hits the stage on Monday night.
MG Rover design engineer Giovanni Esposito is taking his Black Country Rock musical to the Crescent Theatre, in Birmingham, for one week.
It will run as part of the Birmingham International Festival, from July 22 to July 27.
Giovanni will then whisk the cast of 14 and the backstage crew of six to the Bedlam Theatre in Edinburgh, to appear as part of the prestigious Fringe Festival, from August 5 to 10.
The 38-year-old took two years to write the script and music, which ranges from jazz to blues to techno for the story of wannabe rock star George.
It is set in the seventies with Longbridge car works as a backdrop and was a hit at the Crescent last year.
The married Cliff Rock Road resident gave up playing with Beatles tribute band, the Prefab Four, to concentrate on musicals, and is now writing two more shows.
He's also had interest from a professional producer who wants to put on the show at the Alexandra Theatre, in Birmingham, next year with ex-Slade frontman Noddy Holder as narrator.
Giovanni said: "The show is going from strength to strength and there are rumours that Pop Idol finalist Hayley Evetts, who hails from Birmingham, could take on a starring role next year.
"She is a friend of mine and will be in the audience on Monday." For booking details call 0121 643 5858.
