TALENTED youngsters from a Droitwich school were putting their skills to the test last week when they built a sound sculpture out of recycled material.
Children from Chawson First School, in Wyche Road, built the massive sculpture, which represents a musical instrument, last Thursday.
The four to nine-year-olds received a helping hand from staff at Bishops Wood Environmental Education Centre, in Stourport.
The 30 youngsters designed the sculpture themselves and then made it out of the kinds of recycled materials which they thought would make a good sound.
The piece has now been placed at the edge of the playground and will be used by students throughout the school during lesson time.
Headteacher Jerry Hughes said the sculpture was fantastic.
"The youngsters worked really hard to make the sound sculpture a success, it's brilliant," he added.
"It is definitely a unique piece of apparatus that has joined the many other pieces of outside equipment we have which are there to aid the youngsters' learning."
