RUNAWAY leaders Great Alne continued their match to the title with a win over Catherine de Barnes II at the weekend.
Wins for Bearley Bears and Mickleton meant the villagers failed to seriously extend their lead but Henley Road skipper Craig Millard says his side are so far ahead they can afford the luxury of a couple of mistakes.
If the league was decided on points, it would be in the bag with Great Alne boasting a 78 point advantage over second placed Bearley.
The huge margin translates into a five point cushion in a league decided by average points per game and still leaves their rivals a mountain to climb with a trip to Bearley looming a week on Saturday.
But before the potential title decider, Millard's men have to deal with a home fixture against Kenilworth Wardens II on Saturday (2pm start) without three regulars.
Dave Coll and Neil Margesson are on holiday and the captain looks set to be unavailable for a second successive week.
