THE Kingfisher Centre is set to be the eighth biggest shopping venue in the country, the centre's new commercial director has announced.
Newly appointed Ian McLelland has spoken of the dramatic developments taking place at the centre and the exciting challenge he has ahead.
Mr McLelland has come from the Hillstreet Centre in Middlesborough, where he was a centre manager for three years.
Before that, the 39-year-old York University graduate held managerial positions with Argos and Bhs and has spent time in America.
Father-of-one Mr McLelland will be the face of the Kingfisher Centre, liaising with management, retailers and customers and he is keen to get involved with groups and organisations and see positive changes made in the town.
He wants to build relations with retailers and bring ideas he came up with and successfully implemented in Middlesborough to Redditch.
