ACTIVITIES in June included a visit to Morton in Marsh Fire Service training college.
Rev David Capron, who is chaplain to the Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service, arranged the visit.
The visitors were greeted in the College Chapel by the curator and resident vicar.
They gave an interesting talk on the history of the Fire Service.
Rotarians then boarded a "crew bus" to take them round the 500 acre site.
It was amazing to see airliners, railways, mock oilrigs, ships, a stretch of motorway littered with crashed cars - in fact anything which will be needed to train firefighters.
The college is recognised as being the finest in the world and students are sent from more than 100 countries to receive the training. The visit ended with dinner in the college.
At the meeting held at the Swan Hotel, president Alf Thompson introduced speaker Mr Max Snowdon, the well-known local photographer.
Max gave an interesting talk on his profession and showed some of his collection of cameras and competition prints.
John Cooper proposed a vote of thanks for an excellent talk.
The last meeting of the month was held at Hall Green dog track and an excellent evening with meal was enjoyed by all.
