BLUES Festival organisers are desperately searching for more camping space at Upton-upon-Severn after filling the available site almost overnight.
Organiser Stuart McEwan, of the Anchor Inn, said the response from would-be campers was immediate when camping was mentioned on the festival website.
"It's an eight-acre field on the east of the river and it is already full up. I think we are going to have a very busy weekend," he said.
"We are looking for another site and keeping everything crossed that we will find something in time."
A last-minute plea to Upton Town Council for use of the sports field for camping had to be turned down on Tuesday night, because the field is needed on Sunday for a Fun Day to celebrate the 21st anniversary of Upton Youth Band.
The adjoining field was also booked, for a car boot sale. The free Blues Festival, to be held tomorrow and Saturday in Upton's pubs, will bring local and international blues bands to the town, headed by Mo' Indigo, Michael Roach and Will Killeen.
It is the first festival of its kind to be held in Upton, but organisers hope to make it an annual event.
"We are very pleased that we have had this sort of reaction. It gives us a good feeling about next year. However, we are obviously going to have to provide more camp sites," said Mr McEwan.
