Bretforton Specials 2, Badsey 0

BRETFORTON gathered together for the second summer league match and i t didn't take them long to make their mark.

After a fine save from the Badsey goalkeeper, Lisa Workman opened the scoring after some good work in midfield by Sarah Adams.

The goal gave Bretforton added confidence but they still found it difficult to break through some stout Badsey defending.

Badsey tested Sandra Boswell and her supporting defence but Fiona Jordan had little to do in goal.

More determined attacking brought the reward of a second goal when some fine inter-play up the right allowed Adams to find the back of the net to add to the previous week's 7-0 defeat of Droitwich.

Specials will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten record against Stratford this week.

Bretforton 2, Droitwich 0

A SECOND Summer League match saw Bretforton go straight into the attack and within five minutes they were awarded a short corner.

Bobbie Handley pushed the ball out to Deb Slatter who gave the goalkeeper no chance, with a super strike.

The remainder of the first half saw attacks from both teams.

However, Bret took a strangle-hold on the match in the second half and completely dominated the game.

Good play from Andrea Cole, Kate Williams and Amy Trotman in midfield kept Droitwich at bay, while Julie Stowe and Jude Edghill produced some good attacking moves from the back.

The continuous pressure led to the second goal from Sue Harper following a devastating run from Slatter who passed the ball to Harper who slipped the ball past the goalkeeper.

Good play from the Bret defence of Handley, Julie Stowe and Julie Hall ensured that the few breaks Droitwich made were easily contained.
