AN Art Week at a Worcester school ended with the children's work being professionally mounted and framed for exhibition and sale.
Pupils at Our Lady Queen of Peace RC Primary School, St John's, spent the first week of this month working with visiting artists on the theme of "Stories and Rhymes".
Afterwards, each child submitted a drawing, painting or collage to be included in a
one-day exhibition, when parents were able to buy the framed work, with a proportion of the buying price going to the school.
"The pictures looked stunning when they were mounted and framed," said the school's art co-ordinator, Pauline Ranford.
"The materials were supplied by a company called Take Art, which also did the framing and mounted the exhibition for us."
Nearly 90 paintings were sold, raising more than £100 towards the cost of the Art Week, which cost more than £1,000 to arrange, aided by Worcestershire Art Education Agency and the Parent-Teacher Association.
