PEOPLE who can remember an Elgar television documentary made on location across Worcestershire and Herefordshire are being asked to write down their memories.
The programme was produced by film director Ken Russell in the 1960s, for the BBC Monitor series.
Now the 56-minute film is to be released on video and DVD at The Elgar Birthplace Museum in Lower Broadheath, and the research team want to hear from you.
"Were you one of the choirboys in the St George's RC Church scene or another extra? Or did you provide some help to the film crew?" asks museum worker Catherine Sloan.
People who saw the documentary on TV can also send in their memories to be in with the chance of winning an invitation to the national launch at the museum being held in co-operation with the British Film Institute.
The six most interesting recollections will win their writers an invitation, with a friend, to join guests at the afternoon launch on Wednesday, July 24.
An additional 15-minutes of Elgar at the Three Choirs Festival and a live recording of Elgar conducting part of his pomp and circumstance No 1 in 1931 will also be shown.
Send your recollections to "Russell Memories", The Elgar Birthplace Museum, Crown East Lane, Lower Broadheath, Worcester WR2 6RH or e-mail them to www.birthplace@elgar.org
