Minutes of meeting held in Lower Moor Village Hall:

Wyre Piddle & Upper Moor Bypass: The decision to close the road at Wyre Piddle has been call for scrutiny.

It was learned that the petition of signatures for the road to remain open has been mislaid.

The demolished bus shelter will be replaced by two new shelters on either side of the road at Lower Moor. The Council was keen to ensure these would be of a rural structure and not the urban type of shelter.

Local Plan: A special meeting of the councillors will be held on August 1 to discuss primarily the new report of the local plan. Appreciation was shown to coun Martin for attending the initial meeting at WDC.

Councillor Issues: Coun Williamson raised the problem of the number of flies in the area. The Environment department to be approached.

Coun Pickett requested a time change for Council meetings to 7.45 p.m. The Chairman would close meetings by 10 pm regardless of other matters.

Coun Gordon expressed concern of the condition of the A4538 where work had been carried out by the bypass construction team at Upper Moor to Lower Moor and also the lay-by

between Salters Lane and Fladbury. Surface repair stones had fallen into the road from the piles dumped in the lay-by. Geoff Cox, head of highways partnership to be contacted.

The council unanimously expressed their thanks to Coun Marshall (and Doreen - his wife) for all his good offices both as a chairman and councillor over the past number of years.

The next full parish council meeting is scheduled for September 5.
