SKI would like to say a big thank-you to all those groups and individuals who have supported us in many different ways during our campaign.

The generosity of many people made it possible for us to make certain we were properly represented at the public inquiry. Without the technical expertise of Alan Watson it would have been extremely difficult to argue our case.

Special thanks are due to Melvyn Thompson, of Forest Gate Residents, and Bob Harris, of Friends of the Earth, who attended the Inquiry daily and kept us all informed.

Hopefully the people of Wyre Forest will have given heart to groups all over the country who find themselves in similar situations. Sometimes ordinary people can win and the democratic process works as it should.

Let's hope there can now be some sort of informed debate about how we do deal with our waste. "Reduce, re-use, recycle" sounds like a good place to start.
