THE people of Wyre Forest must be greatly relieved at the removal of the spectre of a waste incinerator at Foley Park.
I would like to express my appreciation to fellow district councillors from Health Concern and all other groups, as well as the council's officers and legal advisers, for the presentation of such an effective opposition to the plan.
Citizens, individually and in groups, were equally excellent.
It is now up to the county council to formulate a pace-setting waste management strategy which fully meets recycling requirements for the present and foreseeable future, and to the district council to provide the facilities for domestic separation.
I am sure the public will respond to the incinerator decision by fully participating in an environmentally sensitive waste management programme for the future.
