I WAS sad to read that the name of Harry Cheshire High School is to be changed.
Do the powers-that-be really think a change of name will "re-launch" the academic record?
Alderman Harry Cheshire was an outstanding philanthropist for the town of Kidderminster and of education in particular. Is he to be forgotten?
I expect there is much to be done at the school, and improvements can always be made in this sector, but as an "old boy" of 1941, I remember well the effort put in by the chairman of governors, Mr Cheshire, and his generosity to the school.
Let us not forget the man and his deeds.
