UNION bosses were pleased with the efforts of Wyre Forest local government workers as services were hit by a national strike over pay yesterday.

Worcestershire UNISON secretary Adrian Gregson was in Kidderminster yesterday and told the Shuttle/Times and News the Glades swimming pool was closed, the library was due to close and some schools had not opened.
