Shirley Stanworth-Hall gave a talk entitled You're Never Too Old.
She and her husband, Rob, walked from John O'Groats to Lands End and from Lowestoft to St David's, crossing their north-south route at Hereford Cathedral, this feat now being in the Guiness Book of Records.
After being diagnosed with leukemia some years ago and more recently suffering a stroke, Mrs Stanworth-Hall has undertaken a trip to the African Rift Valley, a trek in the Arctic - climbing 17,500 feet up Mount Everest, snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef and walking on the Great Wall of China.
Mrs Stanworth-Hall ran last year's London Marathon, and is taking part in the jubilee baton relay today.
The annual barbecue is in August.
On September 10 at St Cecilia's Church, Gay Hill will talk about researching family history.
