Dorothy Hadwell and Barbara Austin will share the Denman College bursary for 2003.
The guest speaker was Dr Simon Penn from Avoncroft Museum, who illustrated his talk about Rescuing the past for the future, with slides.
Avoncroft was started with a Bromsgrove building which was going to be demolished, but was taken apart and re-built at Avoncroft. Other kinds of buildings "rescued" next included a church and a windmill.
The competition for a family heirloom was won by Rene Preston, with samplers embroidered by her mother and grandmother. The trading stall is run every month by Brenda Gill.
The next meeting is on August 6 when the speaker will be Vince Williams on Mountain Rescue.
The competition is for an item made from natural materials. Visitors and new members are welcome at the church hall, Franche, at 7.30pm.
