SHEEP dog owners from many parts of the country will be flocking back to the Cotswolds this weekend for the 10th Cotswold Open Sheep Dog Trial after missing out last year because of the foot and mouth epidemic.
The National Trust's Lodge Park, Eastington, will host one man and his dog partnerships during the two day event Saturday and Sunday (July 20 and 21). Many competitors are national and international sheep dog handlers and some have also featured on the BBC TV "One man and his dog" series.
The 52 handlers will compete for two trophies, a shield presented by the organisers and an engraved crystal fruit bowl inspired by the British Heart Foundation.
The trials start at 8am both days, continuing throughout the day, and entry is free.
