BRETFORTON put aside their struggles in the Cots-wold Hills League to win the Jack Grove Memorial Cup.
The competition, staged in memory of Jack Grove, a lifelong member of Ashton CC, saw seven teams in action.
The top four sides then qualified for the semi-finals where Bretforton easily defeated Overbury and hosts Ashton account for Exhall and Wixford courtesy of a last ball 6 from Les Hines.
Bretforton set a target of 123 in the final with Ant Clarke hitting 55. Ashton opener Richard Cooper then led his side's reply but his dismissal for 44 ended their hopes as they finished on 101-9 after 20 overs.
Players and friends, both past and present, are invited along to Ashton after Saturday's second team game with Winchcombe on Saturday for the unveiling of a seat in Jack's memory.
He acted as groundsman, umpire, treasurer, scorer and player before his death last year.
