A LACK of major financial investment at Stourport Swifts has forced them to work extra hard for funds in the Dr Martens League.
Like in the professional leagues, the bigger spenders tend to prosper in the competitive Western Division.
Swifts' promotion from the Midland Alliance may have upped attendances at Walshes Meadow and increased bar takings.
But the club have always had to keep the purse strings tight and there is little indication that will change.
And in a campaign entitled Support Our Swifts they are offering a shirt sponsorship deal as a prize for the coming season.
Companies are being invited to put £100 forward to enter into a grand draw.
Every participant will feature in the club programme, produced by physio Malcolm Cowell, for the whole of the season.
And the winner, to be drawn on August 3, will be the sponsors of the Swifts' kit and change strip as well as training tops and tracksuits, worth a total of £1,000.
Swifts are offering individuals the chance to sponsor a goal or buy a square of the pitch with lucky draws at the end of the season for all those taking part.
For details on any of the above, call chairman Chris Reynolds on 01299 250800 or Howard Lowry on 01299 878759.
They are also after matchday volunteers for the forthcoming season.
