A FLOATING theatre company drops anchor at two Wyre Forest canalside pubs next week as part of its landmark 21st annual waterways tour.

Cheshire-based Day-Star Theatre will be at Wolverley's Lock Inn on Wednesday and The Black Star in Stourport on Thursday, July 25.

Duffy and Jane Marshall tour the country in their narrowboat The Angry Bull - which is also their home - performing plays either in or outside pubs, depending on the weather.

Both have appeared in various film and television productions while Duffy writes the plays, songs and music.

He said: "Watching a Day-Star performance is to experience a unique style of theatre, often performed in whatever space there is available in canalside pubs or at festivals."

The Lock Inn will be the venue for The Hero Of Sandy Edge Wharf, the story of a rural village and the canal that runs through it.

And The Black Star will host a performance of The Moon On The Water a day later.

No admission charge is made but the actors make a collection at the end of each play. Both performances start at 8pm.
