"A WONDERFUL treat for family audiences" takes to the stage in Stourport tonight courtesy of Kidderminster Operatic and Dramatic Society's youth section.
Forty youngsters aged between eight and 15 are performing the county premiere of the new musical Honk, which has been adapted from Hans Christian Anderson's famous Ugly Duckling story.
The production sees a gaggle of farmyard characters join the nave but loveable duckling as he undertakes a rites of passage journey to becoming an elegant swan.
A society spokesman said: "Peril lies around every corner, usually in the shape of the ravenous Cat, but Ugly receives help from unlikely sources and wins through thanks to his sheer good-naturedness."
Performances run until Saturday, beginning at 7.30pm, at Stourport Civic Centre.
