SPINNER Mandeep Singh aims to guide Kidderminster to their first double of the season at Bromsgrove on Saturday after taking nine wickets in two games.

Singh has hit tremendous form in sun-baked conditions and nearly led the town to a weekend victory over leaders Shrewsbury.

But, despite six wickets from the Indian, Kidderminster had to be content with a winning draw.

They overtook Bromsgrove in the table and now face them again after an early-season success over their local rivals.

And skipper Sean Lloyd, who lifted his own batting slump with 54 runs on Saturday, said: "We've played good cricket in the last two weeks.

"We cannot be over-confident with all our young cricketers but it would be nice to have a bit of a run of form.

"Mickey (Singh) is a very good bowler who doesn't bowl too many bad balls and he makes batsmen struggle.

"We've managed to keep the pitches dry and have prepared them to suit him."

There are signs the team may be starting to get somewhere near their full potential.

They are now 51 points away from the relegation zone and 72 away from leaders Sutton Coldfield in seventh place.

Meanwhile, young wicketkeeper Steve Davies has been picked to represent the England Cricket Board and England U-17s next month.
