A VILLAGER launched an attack on the home of a youth he saw molesting his five-year-old daughter.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, kicked the door of the family's house and their car, and shouted ''nonces, bas*****'' at them, Worcester Magistrates Court was told yesterday.

He also smashed a car window and kicked a car headlight, said Kiernan Cunningham, prosecuting.

Mr Cunningham said the attack started in a village near Worcester at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, June 18.

"He was seen outside the house and was kicking the door," he said.

"He had also been seen shouting abuse, throwing a chair at the window, and he smashed a window on their car.

"A neighbour tried to calm him down and noticed he was drunk."

The man was taken to Worcester Police Station, where he said it was his intention to cause damage to the house.

In court he admitted one count of affray and one of criminal damage.

The court was told that he had previous convictions, but the last time he had offended was around 20 years ago.

Richard Hull, defending, said the reason his client went to the family's house was because he had seen the 12-year-old boy who lived there molesting his daughter.

"He had seen the incident a few weeks before going round to the house," said Mr Hull.

"He has described it to me in gruesome detail and, suffice to say, it must have been a very distressing incident.

"His anger had reached boiling point and he had gone around in a rage and damaged the property."

Magistrates ordered the man to complete 60 hours of community punishment and to pay £500 compensation to the family.
