Also on Saturday, the West Worcestershire Conservative Association (Longdon branch) will be holding a coffee morning at Longdon Hall (by kind invitation of Mrs Pat Unwin), 10.30am-12.30pm. Sir Michael Spicer MP and Lady Spicer will be attending. Cakes, plants and jams will be on sale and there will be raffles, hoopla, tombola and bric-a-brac. Entrance £1.

The service in St Mary's Church on Sunday, July 21 at 6.30pm will be Kaleidoscope, an alternative worship for all ages. Contemporary worship songs will be sung in a relaxed informal but nonetheless structured service. There will be Bible readings, other musical items (including a classical music slot) and usually a mini-interview, drama or dance. A short address will focus on the meaning and application of Bible readings.

The Age Concern travelling day centre will be held in Longdon Village Hall on Monday, July 22, starting at 10.30am. Anyone interested in coming for the first time or wanting details of what the centre offers can ring Olwen Woolcock (01684) 576655.

On Wednesday, July 24, Jo Moss, from Longdon parish, and Fran Gibson, from Ledbury, will be flying from Heathrow to Trinidad and Tobago to begin a month's Christian work under the auspices of Crusaders. They will be helping to run Bible clubs for up to 100 children, gaining experience in street and beach work, participating in church services and undertaking practical church work projects on the islands. There may be a little time for sightseeing and sunbathing!
