STOURPORT v WORCESTER NOMADS
The home side were dismissed comprehensively for an unimpressive 125 in 33.5 overs, a total which was never likely to be enough.
Jinks continued his excellent run of form, bowling throughout the innings, and being rewarded with 5-48 from 17 overs. Wooler, with 1-39, Griffiths, continuing to make excellent progress in the senior side, with 2-28, and Austin 1-4 all gave good support. Only Cook with 44 offered any resistance.
Simon Harris (43) and Steve Medley (51) demonstrated the art of batting in fine style to set the victory up, before both fell just short of the required total, But Raymond and Lakin had no difficulty in seeing the game to its conclusion and a win by seven wickets.
WORCESTER NOMADS II v STOURPORT II
WORCESTER Nomads Seconds continued their run of good form with another good performance, on home ground to Stourport.
The visitors batted first and made steady progress without ever really looking capable of dominating the home bowling attack. Giles built a steady innings, but seemed unable to accelerate as the innings progressed. He duly completed his half-century but as he looked to push the score along fell to a finely judged catch from Finbow off Steve Wilks for 61.
Skipper Madzarevic was again pick of the bowlers with 3-43 as Stourport closed on 209-8.
Richard Lisle was the lynchpin of the run chase, and looked in commanding form at last, sharing in useful stands with Bland (20) and Matts (25). By the time he had been dismissed for 78, Nomads were pretty much certain of victory, and were well up on the required run rate. Dave Finbow (28no) and Lee Wilks (26no) saw the home side to a five wicket victory with nearly five overs to spare.
WORCESTER NOMADS III v WORCESTER III
WORCESTER Nomads Thirds drew against a very strong Worcester Thirds on Saturday.
Worcester batted first and despite excellent bowling from Richard Watkins (3-53) and Ken Girling (2-39) made a total of 209-6 to declare after 40 overs.
Within a very impressive batting performance, skipper Tyrer made 71no and Oakley 53. Gerry and James Kelly scored freely in an entertaining and stylish opening partnership, scoring 28 and 17 respectively, and Alex Isaacs and Anthony Massey both weighed in with 35 each. However, the Worcester bowlers applied the brakes and Nomads finished on 146-9 for a losing draw.
