THE Battle of Britain Memorial Lancaster aircraft will star in the Royal International Air Tattoo 2002 at RAF Fairford this weekend. One of only two in the world still airworthy, the appearance by the wartime bomber marks 60 years since the Lancaster's first combat operation in 1942.
Among the guests of honour at the show tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday will be aircrew who flew the perilous missions into Germany.
Also taking part are the Red Arrows, who head a list of six international aerobatic teams. The motor industry will also be represented by Ralf Schumacher's BMW Williams Formula 1 car. For more information, call 0870 241 0303 or visit www.airtattoo.com.
