BARNARDS Green travelled to Pershore for a Worcs Sunday Cricket League Division One match.
PERSHORE v BARNARDS GREEN SUNDAY
On a hot afternoon skipper Kevin Ratcliffe lost the toss and was asked to field. Pershore got off to a steady start through South African Botha and Howell who gradually increased the rate of scoring on a slow pitch. The momentum of the innings was maintained by Bales and Pearman with a good 62no.
The Green bowlers toiled on a hot afternoon and the Pershore innings closed on 255-5 from 45 overs. Highlight for the Green was an athletic performance from Alex Lamb on the boundary.
The Green reply got off to a steady start before Rich Williams mistimed a shot to be caught at mid-wicket. This brought the in-form Tim Clarke to the crease to join Paul Drinkwater. The pair added 97 before Drinkwater (42) was run out and the Green were in a good position at 132-2 off 24 overs.
But, then came a clatter of wickets including Tim Clarke for 81 (nine 4s and three 6s), Tim Williams (11), bowled by one which kept low, and Dick Brown lbw.
Chris Hill then made 20 but the Green innings closed at 206 all out leaving Pershore victors.
