NOMADS saw their bowlers in fine form against Pencombe on Sunday.
WORCESTER NOMADS v PENCOMBE
In just over two hours, the opposition were bundled out for only 104 thanks to openers Brown, with 4-26, and Andrews 2-30. Paul Ranscombe succeeded in despatching the latter order with 4-11. In reply, a fine spell from Pencombe kept things relatively tight. Pilliner with 4-36 and Brown 1-35 tied Nomads down on a less than easy wicket, but Darren Lakin (38), Malcolm Jones (16no) and Andy Brown (14 no) saw them home for the loss of six wickets.
ASHTON v NOMADS II
THE Sunday Seconds were involved in a tight game against Ashton-under-Hill.
Iain Brown (49) and Dave Pearson (27) put on 76 for the opening wicket, but only 13-year-old Cameron Pimlow was able to offer much support. Tom Brain and Charlie Lyons in particular could count themselves unlucky, falling to stunning catches. When Pimlow was bowled for 27, Nomads faded and were dismissed for 160.
Two early wickets gave Nomads some hope. Jason Haines survived a confident appeal for a catch behind to go on and make an unbeaten 65, supported by Wood with 29 and Les Haines with 29.
John Goodreds once again turned in an excellent spell of bowling, taking 1-14 from 12 overs.
