A VERY young Barnards Green U13s visited Rushwick but were beaten by their more experienced opponents on a pleasant summer's evening.
RUSHWICK U13s v BARNARDS GREEN U13s
Batting first, the Green got off to an excellent start with Richard Tuck (30ret) batting superbly showing a full range of shots and hitting five boundaries. Young Tom Clack also showed some good application and was most unfortunate to be caught off the back of the bat when pulling a long hop. Chris Bowen (14) then joined Tuck, who having reached 30, had to retire and thereafter the Green lost their way not helped by some poor calling. Only Harry Jelly troubled the scorer thereafter and the Green finished on 62-7.
In reply Rushwick struggled early on and Adam Price bowled H Currie for 0, but then D Portman (20) and S Young (30) took the bowling to task aided by some poor fielding and they soon reached their target with eight overs and seven wickets to spare.
